An Evening with Jon Saltinstall, in association with The National Motor Museum
Join us for a fascinating evening with Jon Saltinstall, acclaimed motorsport historian and award-winning author, as part of our ongoing Talk Panel Series in association with the National Motor Museum. Growing up not far from Donington Park, Jon’s lifelong passion for motorsport was ignited at a young age. A devoted Ferrari fan, he became particularly captivated by the rise of Niki Lauda, a fascination that would later inspire years of meticulous research and writing. While pursuing a career in banking, Jon developed his reputation as an amateur motorsport historian, ultimately producing the book he had always wanted to read. His debut title, Niki Lauda: His Competition History, was shortlisted for the RAC Motoring Book of the Year Award, followed by Jacky Ickx: His Authorised Competition History, which went on to win the Guild of Motoring Writers’ prestigious Suzuki Award. Hosted by motoring historian Guy Loveridge, this talk offers a deep dive into motorsport history, storytelling from behind the scenes, and insight into the dedication required to document some of racing’s greatest careers. This event is free and not ticketed, just turn up on the evening!
